DRUG FREE WORKPLACE

The Drug-Free Workplace program is intended to promote drug-free workplaces in order that employers in Georgia are afforded the opportunity to maximize their levels of productivity, enhance their competitive positions in the marketplace and reach their desired levels of success, without experiencing the costs, delays, and tragedies associated with work-related accidents resulting from substance abuse by employees.

The Georgia State Board of Workers' Compensation certifies employers as a drug-free workplace.  Those certified receive a 7.5% reduction of their workers' compensation premiums.  Employer must submit a copy of their certificate each year to their carrier in order to receive the discount.

To obtain drug-free workplace certification and qualify for the 7.5% discount on workers' compensation premiums complete the following steps:

Step One
Your company must have a Substance Abuse Policy

Step Two
Your company must conduct drug testing.

Step Three
Your company must conduct two hours of employee education each year.

Step Four
Your company must conduct two hours of supervisor training each year.
 
Step Five
Your company must either have an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) or, a referral list of treatment and counseling centers in your area.

Drug Free Works Associates, Inc. will develop and implement a reliable and cost-effective drug testing program to meet the specific needs of your company. We will supervise the program to ensure it is fully compliant with your state's law.

Drug Free Works Associates, Inc. offers education seminars to hourly and management personnel.  Education includes information regarding drugs in the workplace, drug testing, and the impact drugs have on absenteeism and theft in the workplace.

Drug Free Works Associates, Inc. will assist in the development of a written drug policy statement for your company which satisfies the requirement of certification by your state's Workmen's Compensation department.

Drug Free Works Associates, Inc. will assist your company in designing an Employee Assistance Program within your budget to meet employee needs.
